Our trip to Stirling was great, and full of tons of fun. We headed out that way Tuesday. We rented a car and for our first driving experience here in the country where they drive on the wrong side of the road, it went pretty well. We got checked into our great B&B, went to dinner, and headed to bed. Well I make the bed part sound too easy. It took us until 11 to get the boys to sleep the first night!!!
The next morning, though, we got up and headed off to the Safari Park. It was A-MAZING!!!!! We had so much fun, even braving off and on rain. The great part of this park is that you can drive through the animal reserves, so its ideal for a rainy day. When we first got there, it was pouring so after a couple minutes out in it, we jumped back in the car and drove all around checking out the animals.
I should make a quick disclaimer. You’re not allowed to open the windows on your car, for obvious reasons. So these were taken through the window, in the rain. So they’re not perfect. Just FYI.
The lions were eating when we drove past. Don’t want to know what. :)
A cool deer with amazing antlers!
Very cool camels!! This one is a dromedary but they also have bactrian camels, which are critically endangered. Yikes!!
More deer. Cool.
Here is a great example of the whole “in the car, through the window” thing.
When we got done with our little car tour, we headed to the Sea Lion show, which the boys absolutely loved!! We ended up finishing our day with it, too, but I’ll just include all the pictures here!!!
I was excited about getting this shot at the first show….
but then, I got THIS one at our second show!!!
Pretty awesome!!!
After the show, there was a BEAUTIFUL rainbow!!
Next was lunch, and Eli was really cute.
After lunch we were able to walk around and see the animals. So fun! Jayden LOVED the rhinos, even though he had asked about the elephants all day long.
They also had these cool diggers where the boys could dig in the dirt. They LOVED it.
And here are some cute shots of the boys from the day….
I absolutely love the ones of Dan with the boys. Melts the heart….
And just so there’s proof I’m actually HERE in Scotland, here’s a picture of me with the boys. Hee hee.
Stay tuned for Stirling, Day 2- Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. :)
