Seattle, sleeping, plane flights, etc!

Well here we are in Seattle (technically Everett, which is north of Seattle, but the greater Seattle area). We flew in yesterday. I have to say, I was massively anxious about a plane trip with two small children but it went remarkably well. I almost lost it trying to get on the plane. Juggling two kids, a diaper bag, two backpacks, a stroller, breakfast, and coffee was almost the death of me. But we made it onto the plane. To our wonderful surprise, then plane was half empty so we each got two seats. This was great cause Jayden could have his own seat for eating snacks and staring out the window. Eli took two naps on our trip and his ears didn't seem to bother him at all. It was awesome. We arrived in Seattle and found out that our on-site rental car wasn't really on site so we had to haul all our bags (two suitcases, two pack and plays, two car seats, and all the aforementioned stuff minus the breakfast and coffee) out to the courtesy curb to wait for the Enterprise shuttle. Mind you, it was 40 degrees and raining. No fun at all!! But once we got to the rental place, we were treated very well and got a great car, including a free upgrade since Dan is a travel agent (you can check out his site here). So off we went in our cool rental car to see Mark and Lyndsey. Jayden and ELi knocked out in the car which was great. We met Lyndsey at her school, picked up the keys to her house and went off to get settled in. The biggest excitement was that when Dan went to plug in the fan for Eli's nap (yes, the boys sleep with fans...it helps in our full noisy household!), a fuse blew and knocked out all the power in the bedrooms. My thought was, "Great, we've been here an hour and already ruined Mark and Lyndsey's house!!" Hee hee. Anyway, all was well once Mark got home and fixed it! We had a great evening hanging out with Mark and Lyndsey. The boys went down at 7 and Jayden slept till almost 8 this morning!! The trip wore him out for sure. Eli, however, was up at 12 and 4 and then up for the day at 6. Hopefully tonight will go better since Mommy is TIRED and wants to be able to enjoy the trip without walking around in a fog of sleep deprivation. I don't have any pictures to show everyone yet. But that's because we haven't taken any!! We'll get on that today. This was a long wordy post, I know. Part of the reason is that I am looking into having a book made out of our blog so this is good record keeping. Check back for pictures soon!!
